Joshua Kreig

Joshua Kreig is one half of Sengara Kreig Professional Development and Educational Services which custom-builds small group workshop experiences. Sengara Kreig specialises in communication skills, curriculum design, and stress management with a focus on whole person learning to bridge the gap between education and wellness. Joshua brings a depth to teaching with a career that has spanned religious life, Canadian advertising, Singapore’s tech boom, executive coaching, and exploring yoga in India.
Joshua’s yogic journey began in 1989 with a four-year stay in a Roman Catholic Seminary preparing for priesthood. After various (mis)adventures, winding paths, and shifting roles he currently finds being a “student of yoga” incredibly life-giving. In 2007, after practicing for a short while, he knew he was called to teach.
As someone who uses yoga to manage a serious illness, Joshua is profoundly aware of the healing power of a yoga practice. Yoga is providing spiritual insights that are life-changing and enriching his entire career and life path. He is “always a student”, with much to learn from everyone in the practice room. This student-mind is evident in Joshua’s carefully thought out instruction. To further his studies he recently completed a comprehensive training in yoga therapy and back health which has greatly influenced his approach to asana. Joshua has also entered into a personal study and practice of Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga. Joshua has been teaching at MYDT since 2008.
In his spare time, Joshua adores “doing nothing” or watching basketball. He believes all past adventures have led to this very point: “nothing is wasted and all is gift”. And the biggest gift that yoga has given him, is to stop taking himself and life so seriously.
