Jenny began practicing yoga when knee surgery put her ballet training on hold for a over year. In effort to build strength and maintain flexibility, Jenny began practicing Ashtanga and was immediately hooked. In 2009 she moved to Toronto to pursue her career in dance, where she studied under Svea Eklof Grey and Evelyn Hart, and toured the country with companies such as Ballet Jörgen Canada and The Chimera Project. Years later after re-injuring her knee, Jenny left dance behind in search for a more therapeutic and sustainable practice. She began her offering as a teacher after studying the Fundamentals of Ashtanga Vinyasa at Downward Dog Yoga Centre, and later that year with Moksha Yoga. In 2016 Jenny became certified in Moksha Flow, contributing to almost 1000 hours in just 2 years. Jenny has had the privilege of studying with and learning from teachers including Simone Niztan, David Robson, Marla Meenakshi Joy, Ron Reid and Susan Richards; and has the utmost gratitude and love for her mentors Jackie Szabo, Jacqueline DiRenzo and Jen Montes.
Inspired by the teachings of Ashtanga, Iyangar and dance, Jenny approaches her classes with a thoughtful and creative exploration in movement and alignment. Her involvement with the studio extends beyond teaching and practicing; she is also our Yoga Advisor and Events Coordinator!
Outside of the studio, Jenny dedicates herself to offering education and outreach for Eating Disorders, after surviving her own battle that lasted over a decade. Working with organizations such as NIED (National Initiative for Eating Disorders), EDFNL (Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland), and The Renata Elizabeth Withers Centre for Hope, Jenny aspires to study Yoga Therapy with the mission of combining her passions for both yoga and outreach.
